I’ve got the GPU in my office dev workstation churning work units for F@H, but good grief is it a slow poke. I should not be surprised: our dev boxes are intended mainly as headless boxes with plenty of CPU, memory, and storage , and the video cards in them were likely the least expensive option that Dell could spec. Nevertheless, this thing makes the R9 380 in my home box look stellar in comparison.

Quadros are not very good for folding. I have a mobile workstation from 2012 with a Core i7, I think its like a 5th gen, and a Quadro K2000M. The CPU actually has a higher PPD than the GPU, something like 15k and 10k resectively. My new laptop, 9th gen Core i7 and GeForce RTX 2060, does 20k and 900k respectively.

I’ve looked into building a dedicated folding rig, like way down the rabbit hole, including Tesla GPUPU s, ASIC mining rigs, etc.  At the end of the day, the new RTX GPUs crush everything.
